NYR RANGERS #11 Vic Hadfield
Vic Hadfield was one of the New York Rangers’ most popular and hard-working players. Known for his toughness, scoring, and leadership, Hadfield played a big role in the success of the Rangers during the 1960s and early 1970s.
He was best known as part of the famous “GAG Line” (Goal-A-Game Line) with Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert. Together, they scored often and gave fans many exciting moments.
In the 1971-72 season, Hadfield became the first player in Rangers history to score 50 goals in a season. That made him a team legend and one of the top goal-scorers of his time.
Hadfield was also respected as a leader and served as team captain. He played with heart, stood up for his teammates, and was always ready to battle.
In 2018, the Rangers retired his number 11 jersey to honour everything he did for the team. Vic Hadfield will always be remembered as a fan favourite and a big part of Rangers history.
