MTL CANADIENS #16 Elmer Lach - SQ
Elmer Lach was one of the best playmakers in Montreal Canadiens history. He played center on the famous "Punch Line" with Maurice Richard and Toe Blake, helping lead the team to three Stanley Cup championships in the 1940s and 1950s.
Lach was known for his smart passing, great vision, and leadership on the ice. He helped set up many of Richard's goals and was a key part of the Canadiens' success during that time. Fans loved him for his hard work and skill.
In 2009, the Canadiens retired his number 16 jersey to honour all he did for the team. Elmer Lach will always be remembered as a Canadiens legend and one of the greatest centers in NHL history.
