SAC KINGS #12 Maurice Stokes - SQ
Maurice Stokes was a talented forward who made a big impact on the Sacramento Kings, even though his career was very short. Known for his athleticism, great rebounding, and unselfish play, Stokes became a fan favourite and a symbol of strength.
Stokes joined the team in 1955 when they were still the Rochester Royals. He quickly showed his talent, winning Rookie of the Year and becoming one of the best forwards. His ability to get rebounds, help with the offence, and play fast made him a valuable player.
One of the most important moments in Stokes’ career was when he suffered a serious brain injury in the last game of the 1957-1958 season. Even though he faced huge challenges, his strength and courage inspired many people and left a lasting impact on basketball.
