Jerome Brown was one of the most powerful and passionate players in Philadelphia Eagles history. As a defensive tackle, he combined size, strength, and speed to dominate opponents and lead the Eagles’ fierce defence in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Drafted in the first round in 1987, Brown quickly became a star. He earned Pro Bowl honours and was a key part of the Eagles' famous "Gang Green" defence. Teammates and fans admired his hard work, leadership, and love for the game.
Sadly, Brown’s career and life were cut short when he died in a car accident at just 27 years old. His passing deeply affected the Eagles community, and the team honoured him by retiring his number 99 jersey.
Jerome Brown will always be remembered in Philadelphia—not only for his talent on the field, but for the energy, heart, and pride he brought to the city and the team.
