Frank Finnigan was one of the first stars of the original Ottawa Senators. He played in the 1920s and 1930s and was known for his hard work, strong skating, and ability to score big goals. Fans nicknamed him the "Shawville Express" because of how fast he was on the ice.

Finnigan helped the Senators win a Stanley Cup and was known as a leader and a team player. Even after he stopped playing, he supported the return of the NHL to Ottawa years later.

To honour everything he did for hockey in Ottawa, the Senators retired his number 8 jersey. Frank Finnigan will always be remembered as a true legend and an important part of the team’s history.
