Don Maynard, a speedy and reliable wide receiver, was one of the greatest players in New York Jets history. Known for his deep-threat ability and great hands, Maynard helped build the Jets into a championship team and earned his place among the all-time football greats.

Maynard joined the Jets in 1960 and quickly became the team’s top playmaker. He built a special connection with quarterback Joe Namath, becoming a favourite target for long passes. His ability to outrun defenders and make big plays made him one of the most feared receivers in the league.

One of his biggest moments came in Super Bowl III, when the Jets shocked the world by beating the Baltimore Colts. Maynard’s big catches throughout the playoffs helped the Jets reach that game and secure their first and only championship.

Off the field, Maynard was known for his humble attitude and strong work ethic. He led by example and was respected by teammates and fans alike.
