NYG GIANTS #40 Joe Morrison - SQ

Joe Morrison was one of the most versatile and dependable players in New York Giants history. He could do it all—run, catch, return kicks, and even help on defence. His ability to play many positions made him a valuable part of the team for more than a decade.

Morrison joined the Giants in 1959 and quickly became known for his toughness and football smarts. Whether carrying the ball, catching passes, or returning kicks, he always gave his best. Coaches trusted him, and teammates looked up to him for his leadership on and off the field.

In 1963, Morrison was chosen for the Pro Bowl after an outstanding season as a running back and return specialist. His all-around skills and steady play made him a fan favourite and a leader in the locker room.

Off the field, Morrison cared about his community. He supported charities and gave back in many ways, earning even more respect from fans.

To honour his lasting impact, the Giants retired Morrison’s number 40 jersey. Joe Morrison will always be remembered as a true Giant—versatile, reliable, and full of heart.
