NYG GIANTS #14 Ward Cuff - SQ
Ward Cuff was a key player for the New York Giants from 1937 to 1945. He played many positions, including running back, defensive back, and kicker. Cuff was known for his hard work and ability to help the team in many ways.
During his time with the Giants, Cuff scored 18 touchdowns. He was also a reliable kicker, making extra points and field goals. On defence, he made 13 interceptions, showing his skill on both sides of the ball.
To honour his contributions, the Giants retired his jersey number 14. Years later, another Giants legend, quarterback Y.A. Tittle, also wore number 14. The team decided to retire the number for both players, making it one of the most special numbers in Giants history.
Ward Cuff will always be remembered as a true Giant and one of the early stars who helped build the team’s proud tradition.
