Bob Dee, who wore number 89, was one of the original stars of the New England Patriots and a key part of their defence in the early years. Known for his toughness and nonstop effort, Dee helped set the tone for the franchise.
He joined the team in 1960 and played as a defensive end. Dee was great at getting to the quarterback and stopping the run, always giving his best on every play. He became famous for playing in 112 straight games, showing incredible strength and dedication.
Dee also made history by scoring the first touchdown in American Football League history when he recovered a fumble in the end zone during the Patriots’ first game.
Off the field, Dee was known for his humble attitude and his efforts to give back to the community. He was a role model for younger players and a fan favourite in New England.
Bob Dee will always be remembered as one of the Patriots’ toughest and most dependable players — a true leader and a proud part of team history.
