Jim Marshall was one of the greatest defensive players in Minnesota Vikings history. He was known for his toughness, leadership, and the incredible number of games he played without missing one.

Marshall joined the Vikings in 1961 and quickly became a key part of the team’s famous "Purple People Eaters" defence. He played in an amazing 282 straight games over 20 years, which was an NFL record at the time. He was always on the field, chasing quarterbacks and stopping runners.

Marshall didn’t care about awards—he focused on helping the team win. He worked hard, led by example, and helped teach younger players. Vikings fans loved him for always giving his best and playing with heart.

Off the field, Marshall was kind and generous. He gave back to the community through charity work and tried to help others whenever he could.

To honour everything he did for the team, the Vikings retired his number 70 jersey. Jim Marshall will always be remembered for his toughness, his love for the game, and his place as a Vikings legend.
