Stone Johnson was a fast and talented running back for the Kansas City Chiefs. Even though his time with the team was short, he made a big impact with his speed, skill, and determination.
Wearing number 33, Johnson showed amazing breakaway speed and the ability to make big plays. He joined the team in the early 1960s and was seen as a rising star with a very bright future.
Sadly, in 1963, Johnson suffered a serious spinal cord injury during a preseason game. Despite the doctors' efforts, he passed away a few days later. His death was a heartbreaking moment for the Chiefs and their fans.
To honour him, the Chiefs retired his number 33 jersey. Even though his career was short, Stone Johnson will always be remembered as a player with great potential and a strong spirit. His story reminds us of the risks players take and the strength they show every time they step on the field.
