CGY FLAMES #9 Lanny McDonald

Lanny McDonald was one of the most beloved players in Calgary Flames history. With his trademark mustache and big smile, he became a fan favourite and a true leader on and off the ice.

As a forward, McDonald was tough, skilled, and always gave his all. He played a key role in helping the Flames win their first Stanley Cup in 1989, scoring big goals and showing heart every step of the way.

Off the ice, Lanny was just as important. He gave back to the community, supported local causes, and represented the Flames with class and pride. His jersey number 9 was retired to honour everything he meant to the team and the city of Calgary.
