Frank Ramsey was a key player for the Boston Celtics in the 1950s and 1960s. Known for his scoring, versatility, and selflessness, he became one of the first great "sixth men" in basketball history, playing an important role in the Celtics' early championships.

Ramsey joined the Celtics in 1954 as the 5th overall pick in the NBA Draft. From the start, he was impressed with his ability to come off the bench and make an immediate impact. His smooth shooting and hustle earned him the nickname "The Kentucky Colonel."

Even though he had the skills of a starter, Ramsey accepted his role as the team's sixth man. He brought energy, scoring, and defence when needed, helping the team win many games.

Ramsey’s influence on basketball went beyond his time on the court. He helped set the standard for future players who came off the bench to make big contributions to their teams.
