TOR BLUE JAYS #12 Roberto Alomar

Roberto Alomar is one of the greatest players in Toronto Blue Jays history. He joined the team in 1991 and quickly became a key leader. As a fast, talented second baseman, Alomar helped lead the Blue Jays to their first-ever World Series wins in 1992 and 1993.

Alomar was amazing on defence. He had great speed, quick hands, and smart instincts. He made tough plays look easy and won five Gold Glove Awards while playing for Toronto.

He also had big moments at the plate. One of his most famous plays was a game-tying home run in the 1992 ALCS. That hit helped the Blue Jays reach their first World Series. Alomar was known for getting on base, stealing bases, and coming through when the team needed him most.

Fans across Canada loved Alomar for his energy and love for the game. He was a great teammate and played with heart and leadership every day.

In 2011, Alomar became the first player to enter the Baseball Hall of Fame wearing a Blue Jays cap. That same year, the team retired his number 12 jersey to honour everything he did for the team and for Canadian baseball. Roberto Alomar will always be remembered as a true Blue Jays legend.
