PHX COYOTES #19 Shane Doan

Shane Doan was the heart and soul of the Phoenix Coyotes for over two decades. Known for his hard work, leadership, and love for the game, Doan became one of the most respected players in Coyotes history.

He started his NHL career in 1995 with the Winnipeg Jets, the team that later moved to Arizona and became the Coyotes. Doan stayed with the team through the move and became the face of hockey in the desert. He was the Coyotes' captain for many years—the longest time any player has been captain with the same team in NHL history.

Doan wasn't just a great player on the ice. Off the ice, he was a strong leader and a big part of the community. He helped with charities, supported his teammates, and showed what it means to be a true professional. His dedication made him a role model to other players and fans.

Even during tough times, Doan stayed positive and led by example. His effort and attitude earned him the respect of fans and players all over the league. In honour of everything he gave to the team, the Coyotes retired his jersey number 19, so no other player will ever wear it again.
