PHI EAGLES #60 Charles Bednarik
Chuck Bednarik, also known as "Concrete Charlie," was one of the toughest and most respected players in Philadelphia Eagles history. Known for his hard hits and never-give-up attitude, Bednarik became a legend on the football field.
He was the Eagles’ first pick in the 1949 NFL Draft and quickly became a star. What made him special was that he played on both offence and defence—something very few players did. He was great as a linebacker and a center, and he gave his all in every game.
One of his greatest moments came in 1960. In the NFL Championship Game, Bednarik played every single play and made the final tackle that won the game for the Eagles. That hit helped the Eagles win their first NFL title and became one of the most famous moments in team history.
Off the field, Bednarik was known for being humble, hardworking, and loyal to his team. He inspired many players and fans with how much he loved the game.
The Eagles retired his number 60 to honour everything he did for the team. Chuck Bednarik will always be remembered as one of the greatest Eagles of all time.
