MEM GRIZZLIES #33 Marc Gasol
Marc Gasol was the heart and soul of the Memphis Grizzlies during their famous "Grit and Grind" era. Standing 7 feet tall, Gasol was known for his size, smart play, and strong leadership. Wearing #33, he led the Grizzlies' defence with his shot-blocking, rebounding, and ability to read the game. In 2013, he won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award.
On offence, Gasol was much more than a post player. His passing skills made him the center of the team’s offence, and he helped set up plays for his teammates. Gasol was a three-time NBA All-Star and a tough matchup for any opponent. His leadership helped the Grizzlies reach the Western Conference Finals in 2013, the best run in team history.
More than the awards, Gasol showed the grit and hard work that made Memphis basketball special. He played with heart and toughness, becoming one of the most loved players in team history.
Today, Marc Gasol’s #33 jersey hangs in the rafters, a reminder of his incredible impact on the Grizzlies and the fans who will always remember him.
