COL AVALANCHE #33 Patrick Roy

Patrick Roy was one of the best goalies in NHL history and a huge part of the Colorado Avalanche’s success. Born in Quebec, Canada, Roy joined the Avalanche in 1995 and helped lead the team to two Stanley Cup championships, in 1996 and 2001.

He was known for staying calm under pressure and making big saves when the team needed him most. Roy won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP both times the Avalanche won the Cup, showing how important he was in the biggest moments.

In his career with Colorado, Roy had 262 wins and 37 shutouts, and always played with fire and confidence. He was a true leader and inspired his teammates every night.

In 2003, the Avalanche retired his number 33, making sure no one else would wear it again. Roy’s name will always be remembered as one of the greatest in team history.
