John Stockton is known as one of the best point guards in NBA history. He made a huge impact on the Utah Jazz with his amazing passing, smart play, and long career.
Stockton worked closely with teammate Karl Malone to form one of the best duos in NBA history. Together, they helped lead the Jazz to many playoff appearances and two trips to the NBA Finals. Stockton was the key playmaker, always setting up his teammates to score.
During his career, Stockton earned many awards, including 10 All-Star selections and nine titles for most assists in a season. He retired with the most assists and steals in NBA history—records that still haven’t been broken.
Off the court, Stockton was known for being humble, hard-working, and active in his community. He continues to inspire young athletes through his positive example and charity work.
To honour everything he did for the team, the Utah Jazz retired his jersey number 12, making sure he will always be remembered as one of the greatest players in team history.
