NYJ Jets #73 Joe Klecko

Joe Klecko, one of the toughest and most respected defensive players in New York Jets history, made a big impact during his time with the team. Known for his power, effort, and versatility, Klecko was a key part of the Jets' famous "New York Sack Exchange" and became a fan favourite.

Drafted by the Jets in 1977, Klecko quickly proved he was a star. He played multiple positions on the defensive line—defensive end, defensive tackle, and nose tackle—and was great at all of them. His strength and hustle helped him sack quarterbacks, stop running backs, and lead the defence with heart.

Klecko was picked for four Pro Bowls and was named All-Pro twice. His leadership on the field and in the locker room made him a role model for teammates and a hero to fans.

Off the field, Klecko was just as admired. He gave back to the community, supported good causes, and always stayed connected with Jets fans.

To honour everything he did for the team, the Jets retired his number 73 jersey. Joe Klecko will always be remembered as one of the greatest Jets ever and a symbol of toughness, hard work, and New York pride.
