Curtis Martin was one of the greatest running backs in New York Jets history. Known for his toughness, leadership, and consistent play, he became a fan favourite and one of the most respected players in the NFL.

Martin joined the Jets in 1998 and quickly became the heart of the team’s offence. He had a rare mix of speed, vision, and strength that allowed him to break tackles and pick up yards when it mattered most. Over the years, he earned five Pro Bowl honours and became the Jets' all-time leading rusher.

One of his biggest moments came in 2004 when he passed 14,000 career rushing yards—something only a few players had ever done. Martin’s work ethic and humble attitude made him a leader on and off the field.

Beyond football, Martin was known for helping others. He gave back through charity and mentoring young people, showing that being a great player also means being a great person.

The Jets retired his number 28 jersey to honour everything he gave to the team. Curtis Martin will always be remembered as a Jets legend and a role model for fans and players.
