NYG GIANTS #32 Al Blozis
Al Blozis was one of the most powerful and respected players in New York Giants history. Known for his size, strength, and skill, Blozis played both offensive tackle and defensive end. Even though his career was short, he left a lasting legacy on and off the field.
Blozis joined the Giants in 1942 and made an immediate impact. He earned Pro Bowl honours as a rookie and quickly became known for his ability to overpower opponents with his strength and determination. At 6-foot-6 and over 250 pounds, he was one of the biggest and most talented players of his time.
Sadly, Blozis’ football career was cut short when he joined the U.S. Army during World War II. He gave his life in service to his country, dying in combat in 1945. His bravery and sacrifice earned him respect not just as a football player, but as a true American hero.
Blozis was also known for his strong character and leadership. He showed courage, responsibility, and a deep sense of duty—both as a teammate and a soldier.
To honour him, the New York Giants retired his number 32 jersey. Al Blozis will always be remembered as more than just a great football player. He was a symbol of strength, sacrifice, and what it means to be a hero.
