Elvin Hayes was one of the best power forwards in Houston Rockets history and a basketball Hall of Famer. He was known for his scoring, rebounding, and strong play that helped shape the early years of the franchise.

Hayes joined the Rockets in 1968 as the first overall pick in the NBA Draft. He made a big impact right away with his fadeaway jumper, tough defence, and ability to score and rebound. He was chosen for multiple All-Star Games and became the team’s top player.

In the 1968–1969 season, Hayes won the NBA Rookie of the Year award and helped lead the Rockets to their first playoff appearance. His leadership and effort on the court made him a fan favourite in Houston.

Off the court, Hayes was known for being professional, hard-working, and active in the community. He supported charities and used his success to help others.

Elvin Hayes will always be remembered as a Rockets legend and one of the greatest players in NBA history.
