DET PISTONS #15 Vinnie Johnson - SQ
Vinnie Johnson, known as "The Microwave," was a key player for the Detroit Pistons during their championship years. He earned his nickname because he could “heat up” and start scoring fast, especially in big moments.
Johnson joined the Pistons in 1981 and became one of the best sixth men in the NBA. Coming off the bench, he gave the team energy and points when they needed it most. He played a big role in helping the Pistons win back-to-back NBA championships in 1989 and 1990.
One of his greatest moments came in the 1990 NBA Finals, when he hit a game-winning shot in Game 5 against the Portland Trail Blazers. That basket won the game — and the championship — for the Pistons. Fans and teammates loved him for always stepping up in the clutch.
Off the court, Johnson was known for his hard work, leadership, and support for the community. He stayed active in charity work and used his success to help others in Detroit and beyond.
Vinnie Johnson will always be remembered as a Pistons legend and one of the most trusted players in team history.
