Billy Sims wore the famous number 20 jersey before Barry Sanders and was a star running back for the Detroit Lions in the early 1980s. He was known for his speed, quick moves, and exciting plays that made him a fan favourite right away.

In his first year in 1980, Billy had an amazing season and won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He was great at avoiding defenders, breaking tackles, and running past everyone. He quickly became one of the most fun players to watch in the league.

Billy made the Pro Bowl three times and won Comeback Player of the Year in 1983. He was great at both running the ball and catching passes, which made him a key part of the Lions’ offence.

Off the field, Billy had a fun and friendly personality that fans loved. He helped out in the Detroit community and was always kind and generous to others.

Sadly, his career ended early because of a knee injury in 1984, but people still remember him as one of the best Lions players ever. His name is still linked with excitement, athletic talent, and the proud history of the Detroit Lions.
