Dan Issel, a talented and hardworking big man, made a huge impact on the Denver Nuggets during his time with the team. Known for his scoring, rebounding, and leadership, Issel became one of the most popular and respected players in team history.
He joined the Nuggets in 1975 after doing well in the ABA, and quickly became one of the team’s best players. With his smooth shooting, strong moves around the basket, and tough rebounding, Issel helped lead the Nuggets to several playoff runs.
A major highlight of his career came in the 1977-1978 season, when he made the NBA All-Star Team and helped the Nuggets reach the Western Conference Finals. His leadership and strong play helped set a high standard for future Nuggets players.
Outside of basketball, Issel was known for being kind, honest, and involved in the Denver community. He supported many charities and worked to help others, showing that he was a great person both on and off the court.
