ARI CARDINALS #40 Pat Tillman - SQ
Pat Tillman was a man of great bravery and selflessness, both as a football player and as a soldier. His dedication to doing what was right made him a true hero.
Drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the 7th round of the 1998 NFL Draft, Tillman quickly became a fan favourite because of his hard work and determination. But after the events of September 11, 2001, he made an incredible choice—he left his football career behind to join the U.S. Army.
Tillman’s decision to serve his country showed his deep sense of duty and sacrifice. He was deployed to Afghanistan with the 75th Ranger Regiment but tragically lost his life in a friendly fire incident in 2004. His story remains a powerful example of courage and dedication.
To honour him, the Arizona Cardinals retired his jersey number 40. His bravery and selflessness continue to inspire people everywhere.
Pat Tillman is the inspiration for thebannerman.ca’s Heroes of North America collection. All proceeds from sales of this print go to the Pat Tillman Foundation.
